Introduction

BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer is a topical medication that contains a combination of active ingredients including Tannic Acid, Choline Salicylate, Cetrimide, and Lidocaine. It is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with oral ulcers, mouth sores, and gum irritations. This gel is available under the brand name BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer.

Uses

BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer is prescribed for the treatment of various oral conditions including mouth ulcers, canker sores, and gum irritations. It provides relief from pain, reduces inflammation, and promotes healing of the affected area. This gel is suitable for both adults and children above the age of 6 years.

Dosage and Administration

For adults and children above the age of 12 years, a small amount of BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer should be applied directly to the affected area of the mouth or gums. The gel should be gently massaged into the area using clean fingers. This can be repeated every 3 hours, up to a maximum of 12 times in 24 hours.

For children between the ages of 6 and 12 years, the amount of gel applied should be adjusted according to the size of the affected area. Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional or the product label.

Mechanism of Action

BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer combines the active ingredients Tannic Acid, Choline Salicylate, Cetrimide, and Lidocaine to provide its therapeutic effects. Tannic Acid acts as an astringent, helping to reduce inflammation and promote healing. Choline Salicylate works as a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent. Cetrimide acts as an antiseptic, preventing infection in the affected area. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that provides temporary relief from pain by numbing the area.

Side Effects

BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer is generally well-tolerated when used as directed. However, like any medication, it may cause some side effects in certain individuals. Common side effects may include temporary numbness or tingling sensation in the mouth or gum area. These side effects are usually mild and resolve on their own.

In rare cases, some individuals may experience allergic reactions to the gel. If you develop any signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing, discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Interactions

There are no known significant drug interactions associated with BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer. However, it is always important to inform your healthcare professional about all the medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking to ensure there are no potential interactions.

Precautions

Before using BI-Folate Mouth Ulcer, inform your healthcare professional if you have any known allergies to the active ingredients or any other medications. This gel is for external use only and should not be ingested. Avoid contact with eyes.
