Introduction

Fusigen-DP is a topical medication that contains two active ingredients: Beclometasone and Fusidic Acid. Beclometasone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, while Fusidic Acid is an antibiotic that fights bacterial infections. This cream is primarily used to treat skin conditions that involve both inflammation and infection.

Uses

Fusigen-DP is prescribed to treat a variety of skin conditions, including:

  • Eczema: It helps reduce inflammation and itching associated with eczema.
  • Dermatitis: It provides relief from symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching caused by dermatitis.
  • Psoriasis: It helps alleviate the inflammation and scaling associated with psoriasis.
  • Infected skin conditions: It is used to treat skin infections that occur in conjunction with inflammation, such as infected eczema or infected dermatitis.

Dosage and Administration

follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare professional. Generally, Fusigen-DP is applied thinly and evenly to the affected area(s) of the skin twice a day. Gently massage the cream into the skin until it is fully absorbed. Wash your hands before and after applying the cream, unless your hands are the affected area.

Mechanism of Action

Beclometasone, the corticosteroid component of Fusigen-DP, works by reducing inflammation in the skin. It inhibits the production of certain substances in the body that cause inflammation, such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Fusidic Acid, the antibiotic component, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include skin irritation, itching, redness, or a burning sensation at the application site. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if you experience any severe or persistent side effects, such as skin thinning, skin discoloration, or signs of an allergic reaction (e.g., rash, swelling, difficulty breathing), contact your healthcare professional immediately.

Drug Interactions

Fusigen-DP may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare professional about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products. Certain medications, such as other corticosteroids or antibiotics, may interact with Fusigen-DP and potentially increase the risk of side effects. Your healthcare professional will consider these factors when prescribing Fusigen-DP.

Precautions

Before using Fusigen-DP, inform your healthcare professional if you have any allergies, especially to corticosteroids or antibiotics. Additionally, let your healthcare professional know if you have any other medical conditions, such as skin infections or open wounds, as this may affect the suitability of Fusigen-DP for you.

Fusigen-DP should not be applied to the face, eyes, or mucous membranes. Avoid using it on broken or infected skin without the advice of your healthcare professional. Note that long-term use of corticosteroids on large areas of the skin may increase the risk of systemic side effects.

Storage

Store Fusigen-DP in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Do not freeze the cream. Check the expiration date and do not use the cream if it has expired. If you have any unused or expired cream, dispose of it properly according to local guidelines or consult your pharmacist.

Patient Tips

  • Follow the prescribed dosage and application instructions provided by your healthcare professional.
  • Avoid applying Fusigen-DP to unaffected areas of the skin.
  • If you forget to apply a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
  • Do not cover the applied area with a bandage or dressing unless specifically instructed by your healthcare professional.
  • If you experience any new or worsening symptoms while using Fusigen-DP, consult your healthcare professional for further guidance.
