Poly C Eye Drop

Introduction

Poly C is a medication used to treat eye infections. It contains two active ingredients: Polymyxin B and Chloramphenicol.

Uses

Poly C is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial eye infections, including conjunctivitis (pink eye) and blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids). It works by killing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria in the eyes.

Dosage and Administration

To use Poly C, wash your hands thoroughly before applying the medication. Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper above your eye and squeeze the prescribed number of drops into the pocket. Close your eye gently and blink a few times to spread the medication. Mechanism of Action

Polymyxin B in Poly C works by damaging the bacterial cell membrane, leading to the leakage of essential components and ultimately causing the death of bacteria. Chloramphenicol inhibits the synthesis of proteins in bacteria, preventing their growth and reproduction.
