Introduction

Snbiotic Ear is a prescription medication that contains four active ingredients: Neomycin, Beclometasone, Clotrimazole, and Lidocaine. It is commonly used to treat ear infections and associated symptoms.

Uses

Snbiotic Ear is primarily prescribed for the treatment of bacterial and fungal ear infections. It helps relieve pain, itching, and inflammation associated with these infections.

Dosage and Administration

For adults and children over 12 years of age, the usual recommended dose is 4 drops, three to four times a day, or as directed by a healthcare professional. For children below 12 years of age, the dose should be determined by a healthcare professional based on the severity of the infection.

To use Snbiotic Ear, follow these steps:

Wash your hands thoroughly.

Tilt your head to the side, with the affected ear facing up.

Gently pull the earlobe upward and backward to straighten the ear canal.

Using the dropper provided, instill the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal.

Keep your head tilted for a few minutes to allow the medication to reach the infection site.

Repeat the process for the other ear if instructed by your healthcare professional.

Mechanism of Action

Neomycin, one of the active ingredients in Snbiotic Ear, is an antibiotic that works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, thereby helping to clear the infection. Beclometasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching. Clotrimazole is an antifungal agent that treats fungal infections. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that helps alleviate pain and discomfort.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include temporary mild stinging or burning sensation in the ear. These side effects are usually mild and subside on their own.

However, if you experience any severe or persistent side effects, such as allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), severe pain, or hearing problems, seek medical attention immediately.

Drug Interactions

Snbiotic Ear may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare professional about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, herbal supplements, and vitamins. They can provide guidance on any potential interactions that may occur.

Precautions

Before using Snbiotic Ear, inform your healthcare professional if you have any known allergies to Neomycin, Beclometasone, Clotrimazole, Lidocaine, or any other medications. Additionally, inform them about any existing medical conditions you may have, such as a perforated eardrum, as this may affect the use of the medication.

Follow the prescribed dosage and duration as instructed by your healthcare professional. Prolonged or excessive use of Snbiotic Ear may lead to antibiotic resistance or other complications.

Storage

Store Snbiotic Ear at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Do not freeze the medication. Ensure that it is kept out of the reach of children and pets.

Patient Tips

  • Clean the external ear gently with a soft cloth or cotton ball before using the ear drops.
  • Avoid inserting any objects, such as cotton swabs, into the ear canal, as this may worsen the infection.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
  • If you have any questions or concerns about the use of Snbiotic Ear, consult your healthcare professional for guidance.
