Amlodipine, Lisinopril

Amlodipine and Lisinopril is a combination medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes the blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor that helps to reduce the workload on the heart and widen blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more freely.
This combination medication is often prescribed for patients with severe hypertension or heart failure who require multiple medications to manage their condition. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, as the dosage and duration of treatment may vary depending on your individual needs.
Common side effects of Amlodipine and Lisinopril include dizziness, headache, and fatigue. More serious side effects, such as allergic reactions or kidney problems, are less common but can occur. If you experience any side effects that are bothersome or do not go away, contact your healthcare provider for further advice.
Before starting this medication, inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of kidney or liver disease, heart problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid excessive salt intake while taking this medication, as this can increase blood pressure and reduce the effectiveness of the drug.
