Atenolol, Nifedipine

Atenolol and Nifedipine is a combination medication used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Atenolol is a beta-blocker, which works by slowing down the heart rate and reducing the force with which the heart pumps blood. Nifedipine, on the other hand, is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing blood pressure.
This combination medication is often prescribed for patients with hypertension who have not achieved satisfactory blood pressure control with a single medication. It is also used in specific cases of angina (chest pain) and heart failure.
Before taking Atenolol and Nifedipine, inform your healthcare provider of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, and current medications to ensure the medication is safe for you. Some side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, swelling, and irregular heartbeats. Monitor blood pressure regularly and follow your healthcare provider’s instructions to ensure the best possible outcomes.
