Azilsartan medoxomil, Chlorthalidone
Azilsartan medoxomil and chlorthalidone is a combination medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Azilsartan medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by relaxing blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow through them. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide diuretic that helps the body get rid of excess fluid by increasing urine production.
This combination medication is used when a single drug is not effective enough in controlling high blood pressure. It is important to follow your healthcare provider’s instructions carefully and to have regular check-ups to monitor your blood pressure and adjust the dosage if necessary.
Azilsartan medoxomil and chlorthalidone may cause side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and avoid excessive sweating or overheating to prevent dehydration. This medication may also interact with other medications, so inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
