Felodipine
Felodipine is a calcium channel blocker, a type of medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina (chest pain). It works by relaxing the blood vessels, which helps to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to the heart muscle, thereby reducing the severity and frequency of angina episodes.
Felodipine is typically used when other blood pressure-lowering medications have not been effective or well-tolerated. It is available as an oral tablet, which can be taken once daily, and is generally well-tolerated with few side effects. Common side effects of Felodipine include headache, dizziness, flushing, and swelling of the hands and feet.
As with any medication, consult with a healthcare professional before starting or discontinuing Felodipine to ensure the appropriate dosage and suitability for individual needs. Monitor blood pressure regularly to assess the effectiveness of the treatment.
