Tadalafil

Tadalafil is a prescription medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, which work by increasing blood flow to the penis, allowing for improved erections during sexual activity. Tadalafil is also used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland, by relaxing the smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, thereby improving urine flow. Additionally, Tadalafil has been shown to be effective in treating pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs. Tadalafil works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the walls of these arteries, resulting in improved blood flow and reduced pressure. Tadalafil should not be used as a recreational drug or in combination with other erectile dysfunction medications without consulting a healthcare professional.
