Rivaroxaban

Rivaroxaban is an anticoagulant medication, also known as a blood thinner. It is part of a class of drugs called direct factor Xa inhibitors. The primary function of Rivaroxaban is to prevent blood clots from forming and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat. It is also used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), which are blood clots that form in the legs and lungs, respectively.
