Evogliptin
Evogliptin is a prescription medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults. It is an oral antidiabetic agent that belongs to a class of drugs called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. Evogliptin works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones in the body, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels more effectively.
Evogliptin is often used as an adjunct therapy to improve glycemic control in patients who have not achieved adequate blood sugar control with diet and exercise alone, or with other oral antidiabetic medications. It can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other diabetes medications, such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.
One of the key benefits of Evogliptin is its ability to improve blood sugar control without causing hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), a common side effect of other diabetes medications. Additionally, Evogliptin has been shown to have a positive impact on lipid profiles, reducing levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol levels.
Evogliptin is typically taken once daily, with or without food. The dosage may vary depending on the individual’s response to treatment and the presence of any other underlying medical conditions. Follow the prescribed dosage and schedule to ensure the effectiveness of the medication.
