Oxetacaine Antacid is a combination medicine that provides relief from acid-related indigestion or heartburn. It consists of key ingredients such as Oxetacaine hydrochloride, Aluminium Hydroxide, Dimethicone, and Magnesium.
Oxetacaine hydrochloride works locally in the stomach to decrease its acidity, while Aluminum hydroxide forms a barrier in your stomach to prevent acid reflux by neutralizing stomach acids. Dimethicone helps create a protective layer on your intestinal lining, making digestion easier and reducing gas trapped in your stomach. Magnesium absorbs excess stomach acid and can normalize your stomach acid environment.
This medication is recommended when you experience symptoms such as persistent chest pain, burning sensation in stomach, or a bitter acidic taste in your mouth. Although it is generally safe, Oxetacaine Antacid is designed for short-term use only and should only be taken as directed by a healthcare provider, as long-term use of an antacid may have unpleasant side effects.
Oxetacaine Antacid must be used with caution in people with stomach or intestinal blockages (obstruction), reduced motion of the intestines (idioplon), or kidney or thyroid problems. It may lead to constipation or alter the absorption of other drugs such as tetracyclines or fluoroquinolone antibiotics.
