Mosapride
Mosapride is a gastroprokinetic medication, specifically a prosthetic agent, that primarily functions by stimulating the motility of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It belongs to the family of drugs known as serotonin-type 4 (5-HT4) receptor agonists. The primary use of Mosapride is to alleviate symptoms associated with gastrointestinal motility disorders, such as gastroparesis and functional dyspepsia.
Gastroparesis is a condition in which the stomach takes an unusually long time to empty its contents. This can lead to nausea, vomiting, bloating, and a feeling of fullness even after eating just a small amount of food. Mosapride helps to improve gastric emptying by accelerating the movement of food through the stomach.
Functional dyspepsia is a term used to describe a group of symptoms affecting the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract, including feelings of fullness, bloating, and discomfort after meals. Mosapride can help improve these symptoms by enhancing gastrointestinal motility and promoting normal digestion.
