Cefpirome, Sulbactam
Cefpirome and Sulbactam is a combination antibiotic medication, consisting of Cefpirome, a cephalosporin antibiotic, and Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This combination is used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are resistant to certain antibiotics.
Cefpirome works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to cell death. Sulbactam, on the other hand, enhances the activity of Cefpirome by preventing the breakdown of the antibiotic by certain enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. This combination helps to effectively target and eliminate a wide range of bacteria, including those that are resistant to other antibiotics.
Cefpirome and Sulbactam is used to treat serious bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and intra-abdominal infections. It may also be used in the treatment of infections caused by bacteria that have demonstrated resistance to other antibiotics.
It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, and to complete the entire course of treatment, even if you feel better before it is finished. Taking the full course of treatment will help ensure that the infection is fully eliminated and prevent the development of antibiotic resistance. As with all antibiotics, use Cefpirome and Sulbactam only for the infections for which it is prescribed, and not for viral infections such as the common cold or flu, as it will not be effective against these illnesses.
