Urinary tract infections (utis)

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are a common type of bacterial infection that can affect any part of the urinary system, including the bladder, urethra, kidneys, and ureters. UTIs are more common in women due to their shorter urethra, which makes it easier for bacteria to reach the bladder. Symptoms may include a strong urge to urinate, a burning sensation during urination, cloudy or dark-colored urine, and pelvic pain in women.
Typical medications used to treat UTIs include antibiotics such as Trimethoprim, Nitrofurantoin, and Cephalexin. These medications work by killing the bacteria causing the infection, allowing the body to heal. Complete the full course of antibiotics as prescribed by a healthcare professional to ensure the infection is fully treated and to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance.
