Mebendazole
Mebendazole is an anti-parasitic medication used to treat infections caused by worms and other parasites in the gut. It works by disrupting the ability of the parasites to absorb food, causing them to die. Mebendazole is commonly used for conditions such as pinworm infestations, roundworm and hookworm infections, as well as whipworm and tapeworm infections. It may also be prescribed for other, less common parasitic infestations. The medication is typically given orally and is available over the counter in tablet form or as a liquid suspension. It’s important to follow the dosing instructions and complete the full course of treatment, as prescribed by a healthcare professional, to ensure the parasites are completely eradicated and to prevent reinfestation.
