Formoterol, Budesonide

Formoterol and Budesonide is a combination medication used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Formoterol, a long-acting beta agonist (LABA), works by relaxing and opening the airways in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. Budesonide, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS), reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways to prevent symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing.
This combination therapy is prescribed for patients who require continuous, long-term treatment, and whose symptoms are not sufficiently controlled by a long-acting muscle relaxant (LAMA) or a low-to-medium dose of an ICS. Formoterol and Budesonide is available in an inhaler form, which should be used twice daily.
It is important to follow your healthcare provider’s instructions when using this medication, and to continue using it even if you are feeling better. Do not increase or decrease the dose without consulting your doctor. Some common side effects of Formoterol and Budesonide include headache, throat irritation, oral thrush, and increased susceptibility to infections.
