Fexofenadine, Phenylephrine, Paracetamol
Fexofenadine, Phenylephrine, and Paracetamol is a combination medication used to provide relief from allergies, congestion, and pain. Fexofenadine, an antihistamine, works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical released during an allergic reaction. This helps to alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.
Phenylephrine, a decongestant, acts by constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing congestion and promoting easier breathing. It also helps to clear the ears and sinuses, providing relief from sinus pressure and discomfort.
Paracetamol, a pain reliever and fever reducer, works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals that transmit pain signals and cause inflammation. This results in reduced pain perception and a decrease in body temperature, offering relief from headaches, minor body aches, and fever.
This combination medication is commonly used to manage cold and allergy symptoms, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and mild pain. It is not recommended for use in children under the age of 12, or those with high blood pressure, heart or blood vessel disease, or overactive thyroid. As always, consult a healthcare professional before taking any new medication, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions or are taking other medications.
