Sodium Valproate

Sodium Valproate, also known as Valproic Acid, is an anticonvulsant medication primarily used for the treatment of various types of seizures in people with epilepsy. It belongs to a class of drugs called hydantoins, which work by stabilizing the electrical activity in the brain and preventing seizures from occurring. Sodium Valproate is often prescribed as a first-line therapy for generalized tonic-clonic seizures, as well as myoclonic and absence seizures.
