Introduction

Hatric is a medication that combines the active ingredients Paracetamol, Pseudoephedrine, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate. Paracetamol is a commonly used pain reliever and fever reducer, while Pseudoephedrine and Chlorpheniramine Maleate are both decongestants that help relieve nasal congestion and sinus pressure.

Uses

Hatric is primarily prescribed to provide relief from symptoms associated with the common cold, flu, and allergies. It helps to alleviate pain, reduce fever, and relieve nasal congestion, allowing patients to breathe more easily.

Dosage and Administration

The recommended dosage of Hatric for adults and children over 12 years of age is 10 ml every 4 to 6 hours, up to a maximum of 40 ml in 24 hours. For children aged 6 to 12 years, the recommended dosage is 5 ml every 4 to 6 hours, up to a maximum of 20 ml in 24 hours. Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional or the product label.

Hatric should be shaken well before use. It can be taken with or without food. It is advisable to use an appropriate measuring device, such as a dosing syringe or a measuring cup, to ensure accurate dosage.

Mechanism of Action

Paracetamol, the active ingredient in Hatric, works by inhibiting the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and fever. Pseudoephedrine and Chlorpheniramine Maleate, on the other hand, work by constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing nasal congestion and relieving sinus pressure.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and upset stomach. These side effects are usually mild and temporary.

In rare cases, more serious side effects may occur. If you experience any of the following symptoms. Seek medical attention immediately: severe allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, or swelling; difficulty breathing; rapid or irregular heartbeat; or persistent headache.

Drug Interactions

Hatric may interact with other medications, including but not limited to, certain antidepressants, blood pressure medications, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Inform your healthcare professional about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, to avoid potential drug interactions.

Precautions

Before taking Hatric, inform your healthcare professional if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, such as liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes. Disclose any allergies you may have.

Hatric should not be taken if you are currently taking or have recently taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), as this may lead to a dangerous increase in blood pressure. It is also not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age without medical supervision.

Storage

Hatric should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Store medications out of reach of children and pets.

Patient Tips

  • Always follow the recommended dosage instructions provided by your healthcare professional or the product label.
  • If symptoms persist or worsen, or if new symptoms develop, consult your healthcare professional.
  • Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages while taking Hatric, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your healthcare professional before using Hatric.
  • If you accidentally take more than the recommended dosage, seek medical attention immediately, even if you do not feel unwell.
