Nilotinib

Nilotinib is a targeted therapy medication used for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ CML). It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, specifically targeting the BCR-ABL1 protein, which is responsible for the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells in these blood cancers.
Nilotinib works by blocking the activity of the BCR-ABL1 protein, thereby inhibiting the proliferation and survival of leukemia cells. This medication is typically prescribed for patients who have not responded well to or cannot tolerate other treatments, such as imatinib.
The recommended dosage of nilotinib is 300 mg twice daily, taken with a meal. It is important to take nilotinib exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, and to follow their instructions regarding any dietary restrictions or monitoring requirements.
