Flurbiprofen, Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate
Flurbiprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower high temperatures. It is particularly effective in managing pain associated with headaches, muscular pain, and dental pain, as well as conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are chemical messengers responsible for inflammation and pain.
Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate, on the other hand, is an older antiseptic agent with bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal properties. It was widely used in the past for treating skin and wound infections, but due to its toxicity and the availability of more effective and safer alternatives, it is now rarely prescribed. This substance is not to be ingested and should be applied only topically.
