Typhoid fever
Typhoid fever is a potentially life-threatening bacterial infection caused by Salmonella typhi. It spreads primarily through contaminated food and water, resulting in flu-like symptoms including fever, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and a skin rash. If left untreated, typhoid fever can lead to serious complications such as intestinal bleeding and systemic infection. Typical medications used to treat typhoid fever include antibiotics, particularly oral quinolones, amoxicillin, or ceftriaxone, depending on the severity of the case and individual patient factors. Complete the full course of treatment to prevent relapse or resistance. In addition to taking medications, practice proper hygiene and sanitation measures to avoid further transmission of the bacteria.
