Silodosin

Silodosin is a selective alpha-1A adrenergic receptor antagonist, which is a type of medication that relaxes the muscles in the bladder neck and prostate. It is primarily used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate, such as difficulty in starting urination, a weak urine stream, and the need to urinate more frequently, especially at night. Silodosin works by reducing the contraction of the prostate and bladder neck muscles, thereby improving the flow of urine. This medication is typically prescribed to men who have benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous condition that affects the prostate gland as men age.
