Tamsulosin, Finasteride
Tamsulosin Finasteride is a combination medication prescribed to treat symptoms associated with enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Tamsulosin belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha-blockers, which help to relax the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving the urine flow and reducing symptoms such as difficulty in starting urination, a weak urine stream, and frequent urination. Finasteride, on the other hand, is a type of 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that helps reduce the amount of dihydrotestosterone, a hormone responsible for the enlargement of the prostate. By using these medications together, the prostate can become less enlarged, leading to an enhanced quality of life for patients. Patients should follow the prescribed dosage and consult with healthcare providers for any side effects or concerns regarding the medication.
